Parents – How to set up the QR Code for sign in/out

SCAN QR CODES WITH iPhone

1. Open camera from the Home screen, Control Centre, or Lock screen.

2. Select the rear facing camera. Hold your device so that the QR code appears in the viewfinder in the Camera app. Your device recognizes the QR code and shows a notification.

3. Tap the notification to open the link associated with the QR code.

SCAN QR CODES WITH ANDROID 9 and 10 is easy with an in-built QR code scanner Google Lens. To enable Google Lens, open the camera and click on ‘More’.

SCAN QR CODES WITH ANDROID 8 (ANDROID OREO)

Google Screen Search: allows users to scan QR codes instantly without an app. Point your camera at the QR code, long-press the Home button and click on ‘What’s on my screen?’ The QR code link will be available for you to open. To enable Google Screen Search, open the Google app then tap ‘Navigation’. From the settings, enable Screen Search.

Google Lens: download Google Lens or use Google Lens from Google Assistant.

SCAN QR CODES WITH ANDROID 7 and below

Android smartphones with Android 7.0 and below require an app to scan QR codes. You can use apps such as Snapchat to scan QR Codes without having to download an additional app.
